This card was an update of a Bio Card I created for artist Christina Dowdy a few years ago -- using new images, updated biographical copy, and a color scheme that matched this year's image selections.

Charlotte artists Wendy Bilas, Christina Dowdy and Jenny Fuller asked me to create a postcard to promote a group show they hosted during the holidays.  The biggest challenge with including multiple artists in one piece is to select and arrange the work of all artists in a harmonious, complementary way.  Often the styles and palates of the artist differ, as does their vision of the finished product.   Here, we were able to find a color scheme and simple layout that evenly highlighted the work of all three artists.

Artist Marketing: Dowdy Bio Card

Just like any entrepreneur, working artists need marketing materials to help them brand and promote themselves to collectors and galleries.  I am pleased to have helped a number of Charlotte-area artists with such branding, often in the form of an oversized Bio Card.

These cards typically serve as a POS display at galleries and art shows, as well as an atypical business card featuring the work and biographical information of the artist.  Marketing materials like these help relay the professionalism of the artist and, if I've done my job well, present the work in the best possible light.

The following card was designed for the very talented Christina Dowdy.
