I was happy to help the Cookies For Kids' Cancer Charlotte Bake Sale team again this year, providing a design for t-shirts and other marketing.
Charlotte's Cookies For Kids Cancer fundraising team has raised impressive amounts of money and awareness for the national charity, which funds pediatric cancer research. At their annual bake sale event on December 6, 2014, Charlotte-area events raised over $176,000! I worked with local leader Amy Christenbury to create a t-shirt design for sale at six area bake sale locations, which she said nearly outsold baked goods.
Congrats to the Charlotte Swim & Racquet Club 2014 Swim Team on another undefeated season!
Charlotte Swim & Racquet Club is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year so we created this illustration for the swim & dive team tees, using a fun, midcentury-style sign motif. After studying motel and drive-in signage from this era, I'm itching to go on a road trip.
We Drydens are proud supporters of the Charlotte Swim & Racquet Club Swim and Dive Team. Dryden Design Build is a third-year sponsor of the team, our family contributes seven enthusiastic swimmers, and I have helped create the team t-shirt the last two seasons.
This team has something like a 28-meet winning streak, thanks to a huge bunch of dedicated swimmers, coaches, parent volunteers, and major team spirit! I am happy to have outfitted those cool kids with a winning tshirt, modeled here by some funny-face-making Dryden kids.
I was back in touch tonight with a 2009 client and finally saw photos of our finished project -- a jersey for the Dirt Divas, Charlotte's Only Women's Mountain Biking Club. I created this logo for the club, assisted with some website graphics, and designed their "new" team jerseys.
The team shared some photos of the jersey, modeled by the lovely Divas themselves, via thier facebook page and I can finally share here.
Charlotte Swim & Racquet Club has an outstanding swim team that holds a long-standing record for winning their seasons in the Southpark Swim League. After a few years with straightforward shirts that only displayed the sponsor logos and club crest, the team coordinator wanted to give the kids a fun shirt this year, one with some fun wording and a playful graphic. The kids and coaches that have previewed our new design give it a thumbs-up on fun, and we all look forward to seeing the finished product.
Plaza Presbyterian Weekday School, in Charlotte's historic Plaza-Midwood neighborhood, is a gem of a preschool and a wonderful community of some of the city's most creative characters. Every two years, the school has hosted a silent auction fundraiser with all of the trappings of a good time: superb live music from local artists, great food and drink, and the opportunity to win art, services and gift certificates donated by Plaza families and neighborhood merchants.
Having a few marketeers on the playground meant we needed some quality branding for the biennial event. Colleen Taylor and I, with the help of other Plaza talent, created a logo, invitation, signage, website, merchandise and even a rubber stamp to create custom thank you notes.
